2015 Memorial Student Art Contest

Cupertino Odd Fellows Lodge #70

To All Principals ~ Art Teachers ~ Classroom Teachers ~ Students

 

The Memorial Student Art Contest will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Cupertino Odd Fellows building located at 20589 Homestead Road, Cupertino, California.

We invite the public to view and vote on the art from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. A panel of art experts will also judge.

 

Winners at this local level will be taken to the Loma Prieta District of Women’s Clubs Student Art Contest, to be held on March 1, 2014. First place winners at the District level will go to the State Student Art Contest in May 2014, sponsored by the California Federation of Women’s Clubs.

 

Entries for grades K-8 must be in the school office by 4:00 pm, Monday, March 9 and will be collected by our club representatives.

Entries for grades 9-12 must be delivered to the Cupertino Odd Fellows building on March 14, between 9-10:00.

RULES:

  1. All entries must be from students who attend school in the Cupertino Union or Fremont Union High School districts OR students who attend a general curriculum private school located within the boundaries of the above school districts.
  2. All entries must be current and original, open theme.
  3. Only ONE ENTRY per student.
  4. Entries must be in 2-dimensional media, no 3-dimensional media.
  5. Entries may be matted. NO FRAMES will be accepted. Size not to exceed 24 by 30 inches.
  6. Charcoal and pastel entries must be sprayed. Oils must be dry.
  7. Each entry must have a 3 x 5 index card attached securely to the back of the entry with the following information: name, age, school, grade, home address, telephone number.

NO INFORMATION ON THE FRONT and DO NOT SIGN THE FRONT.

 

COMPETITION GROUPINGS

  1. High School Senior Scholarship – 12th Graders
  2. High School – grades 9, 10, 11
  3. Junior High School – grades 7, 8
  4. Elementary School – 4, 5, 6
  5. Elementary School – 2, 3
  6. Elementary School – K, 1
  7. Special Education – grades K through 8
  8. Special Education – grades 9 through 12

 

AWARDS

An award of $50.00 will be given for the overall winner of the contest. Awards of $30.00 and $20.00 will be given for the first and second place winners in all other categories. Monies will be awarded at the discretion of the judges. All winners will receive ribbons and certificates and all entries will receive a certificate of participation.

 

Special Note: There will be a separate photography contest for grades 9-12 and grades 6-8 sponsored by the Loma Prieta District of Women’s Clubs oiMarch  Interested students may contact us for more information.

2015 6th Grade Essay Contest

TOPIC: "Dream Vacation"

 

Rules: For Contest

1) Length; 150 to 300 words relevant to the topic.

2) Essays may be written in ink on ruled paper with a space between lines, use only one side of the paper. A computer may be used (double space lines and one side of paper).

3) Important!!!   Write your name, address, phone number, name of school & teacher in upper right corner. All information is strictly confidential.

4) Judging criteria will include; content, grammar & spelling.

5) Papers must be sent to address below & received by January 30th, 2014 to be eligible for prizes.

Prizes: First Place = $50.00

Second Place = $35.00

Third Place = $20.00

The Cupertino Federated Women's Club has been active in Cupertino for the past 45 years. We meet monthly in local restaurants on the second Wednesday of the month from September to June at 10:30 AM.

We have a Business meeting followed by Lunch and a Speaker or Program. See our Calendar for locations. Every Member pays for their own lunch and all proceeds from our Fund Raisers go to our local Charities.
